Technical inspection

Independent quality assurance
of photovoltaic projects

We offer the following technical inspection services.

Construction supervision

Our construction supervision ensures the professional implementation of your PV or battery storage system and accompanies you through all phases of construction. We regularly monitor construction progress against project schedules and check on-site that the substructure, modules, cabling, and electrical components have been installed correctly. This enables us to identify any discrepancies between the plans and the actual implementation at an early stage.

Technical inspection

A comprehensive on-site inspection is crucial for objectively assessing the condition and quality of your PV system. Our experts check all system components on site – from the substructure, modules, cabling, and inverters to transformers and transfer stations. We check grounding and surge protection concepts, analyze the safety systems, and document all abnormalities in detail.

In addition to the visual inspection, we can conduct further random measurements, such as electrical thermography, zinc coating thickness measurements, or torque measurements, to identify potential weak points.

Technical inspection of BESS

A comprehensive on-site inspection is crucial for objectively assessing the condition and quality of a battery storage system. The technical inspection can be carried out at any stage of the project and includes testing the battery storage system, cabling, inverters, transformer, transfer station, monitoring system, and lightning protection and grounding concept. In addition, the system's general safety is analyzed; the commissioning documentation, including measurement reports (e.g., insulation and grounding), capacity tests, and the battery management system, is checked; and thermographic inspections of the electrical connections are carried out if necessary.

Thermography with and without drones

Thermographic inspections allow us to detect invisible defects before they cause performance losses or safety issues. We use thermal imaging cameras to inspect modules and electrical components on site and detect typical anomalies such as hot spots, faulty cell strings, defective junction boxes, or potential-induced degradation (PID). This allows damage to be identified at an early stage and repaired in a targeted manner.

For large-scale installations, we also offer drone flights. These enable fast and precise coverage of the entire solar park. The results are evaluated and documented in a structured report. This combination of ground and drone measurements provides you with a complete overview of the technical condition of your plant and a reliable basis for measures to optimize yields.

Technical measurements

We use targeted technical measurements to analyze the performance and quality of your PV system in detail during a technical inspection. This includes torque tests to verify correct screw connections, zinc thickness measurements to assess corrosion protection, and low-light and electroluminescence measurements to evaluate module quality. The results provide reliable data for assessing system safety, for warranty and guarantee issues, and for long-term yield security.

Defect inspection

A defect inspection ensures that previously identified defects have actually been rectified. Once the repairs are complete, we re-inspect the affected components on site and document their current condition. This gives you the assurance that the agreed quality and safety standards have been met. Our independent approach protects you from consequential damage and increases transparency in your dealings with service providers or contractual partners.

Module performance testing

Module performance testing enables a reliable assessment of your PV modules' actual performance. Representative samples are examined on site using precise measuring instruments, characteristic curves are recorded and compared with the manufacturer's specifications. This allows deviations due to aging, contamination, or production errors to be detected at an early stage.

As an extended option, we offer module performance testing under STC conditions in the laboratory. A selected sample is tested at an independent testing laboratory, allowing module performance to be verified with particular accuracy and independence – helpful in the event of complaints, warranty issues, or for quality assurance.
