Alpine solar plant Muttsee dam

The largest alpine solar plant in Switzerland is located at an altitude of 2,500 meters at the Muttsee dam of the Limmern pumped storage plant in the Swiss canton of Glarus. The solar plant could be installed on the existing dam wall and infrastructure and produces about 3.3 gigawatt hours of electricity per year - half of it in the winter season due to altitude, reflection on the snow and little fog. For the solar plant at the Muttsee dam, meteocontrol supplied not only sensors and network technology, but also the monitoring system based on the blue'Log X series. At their unusual installation site, the two blue'Log XM/XC ensure reliable monitoring of the plant.

We were able to rely on the professional support and expertise of meteocontrol for this pioneering project.
