Hova Project: Sweden's Largest Agri-PV System

The Hova Agrivoltaic Park near Mariestad is Sweden's first large-scale agri-PV project. In a collaboration between Svea Solar and Ekoväx, one of the country's largest organic farmers, an innovative symbiosis was created: on an area of 13 hectares – approximately 19 football fields – both electricity is generated, and arable farming is carried out.

The solar park has an installed capacity of 5.9 MWp and generates 8 GWh annually, which corresponds to the electricity consumption of around 1,600 households. At the same time, the area is used for the cultivation of rapeseed, wheat, and as pasture. This groundbreaking concept not only reduces land use but also maximizes the efficiency of land utilization.

For this project, meteocontrol supplied the core technology for control and monitoring. Our Power Control solution based on the blue'Log XC ensures that the park operates optimally and is grid compliant. Furthermore, the technical design for monitoring and park control was handled.
